Nurse Aide (CNA) - Blended (Online/Onsite)

**READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING**
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE WHICH HAS BOTH ONLINE AND IN-PERSON COMPONENTS.
IN-PERSON ORIENTATION ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. NO EXCEPTIONS, EXCUSES, OR REFUNDS. TEXTBOOKS, CLASS MATERIALS AND OTHER INFORMATION WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT ORIENTATION.
Pre-requisites: Reading Comprehension of the English language as required by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
The Nurse Aide Program (CNA) is a Virginia Board of Nursing-approved program. This program exceeds the required 80 hours of lecture/skills and 40 hours of clinical experience. Through lecture, video, role-playing, and hands-on skills laboratory and clinical practice, you learn procedural skills such as bathing, dressing, positioning, and vital signs. You also learn key communication techniques to provide compassionate care for the elderly and others in need of personal care.
Successful completion of the Nurse Aide course qualifies the individual as a Nurse Aide Candidate - eligible to take the Virginia Nurse Aide Written and Skills Examinations, provided by Credentia. Certificate of completion will be provided within 14 Business Days (count ONLY Monday through Friday non-holidays) ONLY upon satisfactory completion of all portions of the course- Classroom, Skills & Clinical Practicum.
The cost [$1500.00] includes textbooks, all classroom materials and supplies, and CPR/AED/First Aid 2yr certification.
- Class Meeting Dates/Times/Location: The classroom portion of this program is ONLINE & asynchronous (no scheduled class meet times, lectures are recorded, work at your pace, any time day or night). Students must be prepared to follow the program schedule, completing assignments/quizzes/tests by deadline.
- Skills & Clinical Dates/Times/Location: Dates/Times to be assigned upon satisfactory completion of online portion of course. Locations are area facilities as assigned in the Richmond area.
- Skills & Clinical Attire:
* Scrubs ONLY. Scrub Covers & Name Badge are supplied by Fresh Start to be worn at skills & clinical facilities only. Shoes must be closed toe, closed heel, solid material, waterproof, rubber sole. No Crocs, sandals, flip-flops or clogs.
Additional required documentation [must submit prior to Skills start date:]
- Current PPD (TB) Test or Chest X-Ray ($25 to $45)
- Current Criminal Background Check from the Virginia State Police ($20 or more)
- Proof of COVID vaccination status.

READ ALL COURSE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING. YOUR SUBMITTED REGISTRATION IS YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE TERMS LISTED BELOW.
Course Description: Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED/First Aid teaches the basic fundamentals of life-saving techniques along with First Aid that helps students understand how to care for the injured and how to recognize signs and symptoms of emergency situations.
This CPR/FirstAid/AED course is "blended" meaning there is an online learning and test portion plus a in-person skills demonstration. Skills demonstration is by appointment only at our office location.
Online Training:
- ProTrainings Online CPR/AED/First Aid portion may be completed at any time around the clock, 24hrs/day, 7days/week.
- Online portion must be completed within 30 days once course access is sent.
- No refunds after course access is issued.
- Minimum test score of 80% must be achieved to pass online portion.
Skills Demonstration:
- Skills demonstration must occur within 30 days of completion of the online course portion.
- You must schedule an appointment to complete the in-person skills demonstration at our office location.
- Appointment link will be sent via email once online portion of course is completed.
- Appointments are 1 hour in duration. PLEASE BRING A VALID PHOTO ID TO THE APPOINTMENT.
- No show or cancellations less than 24 hours from appointment will not be refunded. Reschedule fee is $50.00 per person.
Certification: 2 Years. Certificates are issued ONLY when satisfactory online test score [80% or better] plus skills demonstration are achieved.

40-Hour Personal Care Aide (PCA) ONLINE MONTHLY

40hr Personal Care Aide (PCA):
The 40hr Personal Care Aide program meets the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) curriculum for Home Health and Hospice and is also accepted by the Virginia Department of Social Services for 'direct patient care staff' in licensed assisted living facilities.
The course content instructs participants in assisting residents with activities of daily living, patient transfers, nutrition, oral & personal hygiene with "on-the-job" hands-on training to complete the program.
A certificate will be provided within 14 business days upon successful completion of the course. DO NOT COUNT WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.

Class Duration: 3-weeks Online covers 36-Hours including videos

4hr Medication Aide Refresher - "Online Anytime"

APPROVED FOR VIRGINIA MEDICATION AIDES
Required annual continuing education for VIRGINIA Registered Medication Aides (68hr – Assisted Living) and required every 3 years for non-registered Medication Technicians (32hr Medication Technicians in Adult Day Cares, Adolescent Group Homes, Correctional Facilities).
Topics covered include but are not limited to:

- patient safety
- facility-specific topics

Skills checkoff for 40hr PCA course at Promedica (formerly ManorCare- The Village) Assisted Living, 2125 Hilliard Rd, Richmond, VA 23228.
This 4-hour skills portion of the 40Hr PCA course demonstrates mastery of the care skills discussed in the online portion.
Class seats are limited to 10 per session. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE by registration ONLY.
Pre-Requisites:
(1) SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF ONLINE PORTION OF 40HR PERSONAL CARE AIDE COURSE.
(2) PAYMENT IN FULL OR PAYMENT PLAN FOR PCA. *You will NOT receive your certificate until the class has been paid in full.
WHAT TO BRING:
- APPROPRIATE DRESS: Please wear scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no Crocs, flipflops, sandals or clogs).
- Bring your ID to verify.
- ARRIVE ON TIME - Testing starts promptly at 10 am. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IF YOU ARE TARDY. YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR SEAT IN THE CLASS AND MUST PAY $100 to RESCHEDULE FOR TARDY OR NO SHOW.
