The Nurse Aide Program (CNA) is a Virginia Board of Nursing approved program. This program exceeds the required 80 hours of lecture/skills and 40 hours of clinical experience. Through lecture, video, role-playing, and hands-on skills laboratory and clinical practice, you learn procedural skills such as bathing, dressing, positioning, and vital signs. You also learn key communication techniques to provide compassionate care for the elderly and others in need of personal care. 

The cost includes the textbook, all classroom materials and supplies, CPR/AED/First Aid 2yr certification, 1-set of black scrubs, and the Pearson VUE Examination Fee.

Certificate will be provided within 14 Business Days (count ONLY Monday through Friday non-holidays) ONLY upon successful completion of the course.

Upon completion of class, graduates will be submitted to Pearson VUE per the Virginia Board of Nursing. Each graduate will then receive an email giving them access to schedule for the state exam.

Additional requirements prior to program start date:

  1. Current PPD (TB) Test or Chest X-Ray (usually $25 to $45)
  2. Current Criminal Background Check from the Virginia State Police ($15 or higher)
  3. Black shoes & Black Socks
    ** Must be vinyl or leather (leak-proof) & be closed top, toe & back
    ** No canvas or slip-ons, mules, clogs, lace-ups, etc...

Pre-requisites: Reading Comprehension of the English language as required by the Virginia Board of Nursing

The Pharmacy Technician course is designed to prepare students to assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Students will obtain a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and Pharmacy Law skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

There will be a research project to complete during week 5 and 6 of the class duration.

You will be required to pass your Fresh Start Healthcare final exam with an 80% in order to successfully complete this class.

Certificate will be provided within 14 business days upon successful completion of the course. DO NOT COUNT WEEKENDS OR HOLiDAYS.

Student will be eligible to apply for the national (ExCPT/PTCB) examination.

Prerequisites: 16yrs old to take class * Exams require you to be 18yrs old and have a high school diploma or GED.

Additional Requirements: Recommended (but not required) that participants be a Medication Aide (32hr or 68hr)

Section #1 (3hrs):

Entails understanding the specifics of adult learners, engaging multiple personalities, emphasis on making learning fun and interactive in the classroom.

Section #2 (3hrs):

Train-the-Trainer for Medication Aide (RMA) is intended for RN, LPN, RPh who wish to teach unlicensed persons and learn how to establish a program and its principles of adult learning, prepare and present lesson plans in a Medication Aide Program (RMA) approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and the Department of Social Services for Assisted Living facilities.

The student Medication Aide training course requires a total of 68 hours  (40hrs lecture/skills, 8hrs Diabetes, and 20 hours of clinical experience) for students to apply to the Virginia Board of Nursing and sit for the state competency Written Exam (online) to become a Registration Medication Aide (RMA).

Pre-requisites: LPN, RN, Pharmacist

Section #3 (3hrs):

Train-the-Trainer for Nurse Aide (CNA) is intended for RNs and LPNs who wish to teach unlicensed persons about patient care, how to establish a program, principles of adult learning, and preparing and presenting lesson plans in a Nurse Aide Program (CNA) approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

The student Nurse Aide training course requires 80 hours of lecture/skills and 40 hours of clinical experience for students to apply to the Virginia Board of Nursing and sit for the state required Written/Oral & Skills Exams to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).

Pre-requisites: LPN, RN

Certification Years: N/A

Payment plan available: $225 deposit plus 2 payments of $112.50, paid weekly
