The Pharmacy Technician course is designed to prepare students to assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Students will obtain a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and Pharmacy Law skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

There will be a research project and required pharmacy interviews  (minimum of 3) to complete during weeks 9 through 16 of the class duration.

You will be required to pass your Fresh Start Healthcare final exam with an 80% in order to successfully complete this class.

Certificate will be provided within 14 business days upon successful completion of the course. DO NOT COUNT WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.

Student will be eligible to apply for the national (ExCPT/PTCB) examination.

Prerequisites: 17yrs old to take class 
*National Exams require you to be 18yrs old and have a high school diploma or GED

Additional Requirements: Recommended (but not required) that participants be a Medication Aide (32hr or 68hr)

40hr Personal Care Aide (PCA):
The 40hr Personal Care Aide program meets the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) curriculum for Home Health and Hospice and is also accepted by the Virginia Department of Social Services for 'direct patient care staff' in licensed assisted living facilities.

The course content instructs participants in assisting residents with activities of daily living, patient transfers, nutrition, oral & personal hygiene with "on-the-job" hands-on training to complete the program. 

A certificate will be provided within 14 business days upon successful completion of the course. DO NOT COUNT WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.

The 68hr Medication Administration Course is a Virginia Board of Nursing approved program. The course instructs participants on how to administer & assist a resident in self-administering medications, including blood sugar checks & insulin injections, in the assisted living environment.

There are 68 hours of training, consisting of 44 hours of ONLINE training and 24 hours of clinical training in an On-the-Job assisted living facility, to assist in Medication Management and Administration in assisted living facilities.

Certificate and Performance Record will be provided via email to the facility within 14 Business Days (count ONLY Monday through Friday non-holidays) ONLY upon completing the course.

Prerequisites: A certificate of completion from one of the following *MUST BE SUBMITTED TO FRESH START PRIOR TO THE START DATE OF THE COURSE!:

Medication Aide Train-the-Trainer Class

Join us for 2-sections (approximately 3-hours each with recording and attachments) to complete the Train-the-Trainer classes for Medication Aide programs.
